MELINDA SANCHEZ

Parent Coach

If you feel you are alone in the midst of the chaotic world of parenting children who are not “in the box,” you may benefit from expanding your support system. I would love to join you on your journey and offer some new perspectives that may improve your connection with your children.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from a Christian University and have been a domestic violence counselor, a foster care licensing worker and trainer, and a children’s pastor. I have also been a foster parent for over 20 years and an adoptive parent for nearly 15 years. I have two biological children and two adopted children, and my children have a variety of special needs that has made parenting them quite challenging throughout the years! Using TBRI (trust based relational intervention) has been extremely helpful in my own family, and I would love to guide you through your parenting challenges using this approach as well.

Many foster and adoptive parents realize that their children have trauma in their pasts. However, what many of us fail to realize is that in working with our foster and adopted children, we often experience secondary trauma, which can be very damaging as well. We have to be mindful of our own trauma as we work with our children in hopes of creating a healing environment for the entire family. I am a parent coach for Mozaic Therapy and would love to walk together with you on this path towards wholeness.
